USMNT abroad: Christian Pulisic’s spectacular form continues
By Daniel Garza
Christian Pulisic produced another fantastic performance as he scored Chelsea’s match-winner against Watford. Here is an update from the weekend for all of the USMNT stars around the world.
The fine form of U.S. Men’s National Team unquestioned starlet Christian Pulisic continued this weekend. The midfielder registered yet another goal for his club, Chelsea. His 55th-minute contribution was vital, scoring the second goal in a 2-1 win for the Blues as they look to hunt down a top-four spot in the Premier League.
This finish was simpler than his tremendous hat-trick last week, but he showed excellent anticipation, speed and instincts to dart into the six-yard box, split the Watford defence who were unable to keep tabs on his movement and tap home Tammy Abraham’s low cross.
In total, Pulisic now has four goals and two assists in eight Premier League appearances. The USMNT star will hope to feature again for Frank Lampard’s side on Tuesday when they face Ajax in the UEFA Champions League.
In Germany, Zack Steffen earned his second clean sheet of the season for Fortuna Düsseldorf as they won 2-0 against FC Köln. Alfredo Morales was a part of the match as well for Düsseldorf. The midfielder played 81 minutes in the Bundesliga fixture.
Emmanuel Sabbi got on the scoresheet for Hobro in Denmark. His 31st-minute goal was not enough to help Hobro get all three points but it was his second goal in as many games.
