Raul Ruidiaz epitomised everything you want from a hard-working striker. He scored twice, help up the ball, ran the channels brilliantly, and put in a shift in his defensive half as well.
Ruidiaz scored just a couple of minutes after the hosts had taken the lead with a lovely turn and shot from the edge of the LAFC box. Nicolas Lodeiro then scored the Sounders’ second to give them the lead inside the opening half an hour, despite having gone behind early, before Ruidiaz added an insurance goal just after the hour mark.
The Peruvian forward now has three goals and three assists already in the 2019 MLS Cup playoffs and is one of the form players going into the MLS Cup final in ten days time. This might have been the best performance in his Sounders career. What a time for it to arrive.
