Jonathan Osorio scored twice in extra-time to give his side the victory. In a ferocious first 15 minutes of extra-time, the Reds scored four goals, Osorio notching two of his own. His first came in the 95th minute, before he then hit home a stunning half volley from the edge of the area to double his tally for the evening.
The Toronto-born Canadian MNT star also assisted another goal on the night, and with Nick DeLeon’s long-range curler finding the next in the 105th minute, Toronto led 5-1 and cruised to the win. Osorio finished the night with some sensational statistics, a neat illustration of his dominance: two goals, one assist, five shots, three on target, five chances created, 97 touches, 86% pass completion rate, three take-ons, seven duels won, 11 ball recoveries and three tackles.
That really is a sensational individual performance. Toronto FC needed a hero. And in Jonathan Osorio, they found one and then some.
