The October international break is over and the USMNT players have returned to their respective clubs. How did they perform following the less than stellar Nations League fixtures?

A quick turnaround from the CONCACAF Nations League did not phase the United States Men’s National Team players this weekend. After losing 2-0 to Canada, the young players of the USMNT were very active in their club’s results.

Josh Sargent was one of the goalscorers over the weekend, notching a strike in Werder Bremen’s 1-1 draw against Hertha Berlin. The USMNT striker has scored two goals in seven Bundesliga appearances this season.

Elsewhere, Matt Miazga provided the game-winning goal for Reading in their 1-0 win over Preston North End. This was his first goal in almost two years. While in the Netherlands, Sergino Dest registered two assists for Ajax in their 2-1 victory against RKC Waalwijk. Unlike the aforementioned players, Dest did not play for the USMNT during the October international break as he weighs up his options for his international future.

Chrisitan Pulisic and DeAndre Yedlin faced each other in a Premier League battle between Chelsea and Newcastle United. In the end, Chelsea took all three points in a 1-0 win. Pulisic was used as a substitute and entered in the 64 minute. Yedlin was in the starting XI and played all 90 minutes for Newcastle.

Pulisic was involved in Marco Alonso’s game-winning goal as the midfielder made a run into the box that helped set up the crucial moment of the fixture.
