1. Brenden Aaronson

The Philadelphia Union will be seeking out a first-ever MLS Cup playoffs victory on Sunday afternoon when they host the New York Red Bulls. And at the heart of their attempts will be 18-year-old Brenden Aaronson, who is the youngest player on our list.

Aaronseon has risen through the Union’s academy to become a vital part of their first team. He has become an influential part of their midfield, showing good passing skill and close control. He then added goals to the mix over the second half of the campaign, scoring three.

Aaronson has already been called up to the United States U-21 team this year, where he has linked up well with another man on this list, Mason Toye, and his performances have helped establish the Union midfield as one of the most dominant units in MLS.

If the Union can keep their young star injury free, he will have a long and fruitful career. But for now, his focus is on the playoffs.  Going into the playoffs. He has nothing to lose, and that could bring out his best, which would spell trouble for everyone else.
