13. New England Revolution

While FC Dallas are the number seven seed in the West, the next lowest-ranked team in the MLS Multiplex Playoff Power Rankings is the number seven seed in the Eastern Conference, the New England Revolution. So why are the Revs ranked one place higher than their fellow underdogs?

Well, essentially, it comes down to talent. From a purely name perspective, the Revolution have better players than FC Dallas. Newly awarded Newcomer of the Year Carles Gil has been excellent this season, Gustavo Bou is a proven goalscorer, while Christian Penilla and Teal Bunbury are solid veteran goalscoring presences in MLS. The quartet has combined for 31 goals this season.

They also have Bruce Arena. His ideas may seem ancient, his attitude is deplorable, but he is a prolific and proven winner, and in playoff football, that matters. A trip to Atlanta United to open the postseason means the Revs chances are slim, but they do have the talent to hit it right.
