New England Revolution

Matt Turner – 7 – Made a couple of good saves but couldn’t really do much with Escobar’s rocket in the second half.

Brandon Bye – 6 – Had some testing duels with Meram and Villalba on the Revs’ right-hand side but won more of them than he lost.

Andrew Farrell – 8 – Struggled early on but became a real solid presence at the back once he adjusted to the pace of the game. Very nearly conceded a penalty for a challenge on Barco but just about managed a touch on the ball.

Antonio Mlinar Delamea – 6 – Dealt with pretty much everything thrown at him in solid fashion and forged a good partnership with Farrell.

DeJuan Jones – 6 – Was sliced open by Barco’s pass for the goal but other than that, had a solid game. Tested Guzan with a powerful shot in the first half.

Carles Gil – 7 – Played more key passes (4) than any other player on the pitch and tried his best to get the Revs on the front foot at every opportunity.

Scott Caldwell – 5 – Struggled to keep pace with what was a very intriguing midfield battle and was often sloppy with his passing.

Wilfried Zahibo – 5 – Almost landed the Revs in real trouble with a terrible pass early on and although he steadied his game after that, Zahibo didn’t exert enough influence over the game.

Cristian Penilla – 6 – Put in a few threatening crosses as the Revs tried to hit Atlanta on the break.

Gustavo Bou – 6 – Has a strong partnership forming with Bunbury but couldn’t get into the game enough as a result of Atlanta controlling possession.

Teal Bunbury – 7 – Was probably the Revs’ most threatening player and Arena’s choice to bring him off while they were changing the game was certainly a strange one.

Subs:

Diego Fagundez (80 mins, for Zahibo) – 6 – Looked lively when he came on and set up Agudelo with a great delivery.

Fernando Caceido (80 mins, for Bunbury) – 6 – Thrown on late to try and liven up the Revs’ forward line, although keeping Bunbury on might have been the better option.
