Two MLS players had big performances for their respective countries during the October international break. Find out how they fared.

For Zdeněk Ondrášek and Brian Rodriguez, their first matches of the October international break couldn’t have gone any better. The two players both found the back of the net for their countries and have been among the top representatives from Major League Soccer during this break.

Ondrášek had a dream debut for the Czech Republic against England. The 30-year-old forward had never before made an appearance for his country in a senior-level match until this international break.

His late goal gave the Czech Republic all three points against England in the UEFA European Cup qualifiers. It really was an incredible storyline for Ondrášek who will certainly never forget this moment.

The forward had been getting attention from the national team after putting together a fine run of form for FC Dallas. With seven goals in 17 appearances, he’s proven to be a huge part of the club’s success this season as they now prepare for the MLS Cup playoffs.

Elsewhere, it was LAFC’s Brian Rodriguez who scored the game-winning goal and only goal of their victory over Peru. The 19-year-old had just scored his first senior-level international goal during the last international break against the United States. Bob Bradley has to be happy with what he’s seen from Rodriguez during his time with Uruguay as he will be a huge part of their run towards the MLS Cup in the coming weeks.

Vancouver Whitecaps defender Ali Adnan got on the scoresheet for Iraq in a 2-0 win over Hong Kong in the Asian Confederation World Cup qualifying match. His successful penalty conversion aided his country’s first win of the qualifying round.
