Central Midfield

Jackson Yueill – 8.5

He may not have gotten his name on the stat sheet, but Jackson Yueill was immense all night for the U.S. Allowed too much time and space on the ball, the San Jose Earthquakes midfielder picked out pass after pass from his deep-lying position. Not many expected to see him on the field, but Yueill was able to make the most of his chance in the team. He likely won’t feature versus Canada, but this performance should certainly make Berhalter think twice about benching Yueill.

Cristian Roldan – 7.0

Incredibly energetic as always for the USMNT, Cristian Roldan just kept running up and down the field. His movement helped open up space for others, proving why he’s such an unsung hero at times for both club and country. He almost scored late on when his shot from distance deflected towards goal but the Cuba goalkeeper was able to make an impressive save. It might have been against weaker opposition, but this frantic showing shows why Berhalter tends to turn to Roldan time and time again.

Weston McKennie – 10.0 – Man of the Match

Weston McKennie helped the USMNT make a dream start to the contest, scoring after only 30 seconds before grabbing a brace in the fifth minute. He then assisted the third goal, picking up the ball and turning quickly before playing a clever pass to Morris, who did the rest. McKennie would complete his hat-trick in the 12th minute, slamming home a low cross into the back of the net. Clearly the Man of the Match, he was taken off before the start of the second half. fans will hope McKennie can carry over his electric form when the U.S. take on Canada.
