Toronto FC

Toronto FC were the first team to ever complete the domestic treble when they won the MLS Cup, Supporters’ Shield and the Canadian Championship in 2017. But last season, their form dropped off a cliff and they missed out on the postseason entirely. However, this time around, they are back and they did so despite losing their best player in Sebastian Giovinco, who moved to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal in the off-season.

With the departure of their main goal threat, as well as Victor Vazquez also leaving, the rest of the team had to step up. Good job, then, that both Jozy Altidore and new signing Alejandro Pozuelo got into double figures on the year. There were also contributions from Nick DeLeon, Jonathan Osorio and Jordan Hamilton among others.

Pozuelo also racked up 12 assists over the year as he stood out for TFC throughout the campaign. They may have not succeeded in the CONCACAF Champions League at the start of the season, but they bounced back to make the playoffs for the fourth time in their history.

Once again, they made the final of the Canadian Championship, the tenth time in the last twelve years, and they will be looking to continue that form into the postseason. Could this Toronto FC side break through for a second MLS Cup title in three seasons?
