9. Tristan Blackmon

Los Angeles FC had a lot to play for in their final game of the season. They had a star man looking for the regular-season goals record, and the team themselves were looking to break the regular-season points record as well. Both were achieved, unsurprisingly. However, the number nine performance from last weekend in MLS is not the star man (he comes later on, don’t worry). Instead, it is Tristan Blackmon.

Blackmon recorded two assists on the day as LAFC took the victory they needed to break the record, beating Colorado 3-1 at Banc of California Stadium. The Black and Gold scored twice in the first 45, and unsurprisingly, it was Carlos Vela that got both, as he broke the single-season scoring record. Blackmon assisted one of those.

And then, for LAFC’s third, Blackmon raced down the right wing before squaring the ball to Vela, who applied the finishing touches to his hat-trick. With LAFC now having a bye in the first round of the playoffs, the team has a chance to relax and recover ahead of the postseason, where they will be the clear favourites.
