1. Tim Howard says goodbye

As you’ve already read, we had a lot of goodbyes on Decision Day this year, but arguably the biggest one of the lot was that of Tim Howard. The 40-year-old has been an absolute legend for the USMNT, even without his career-starring performance against Belgium in the 2014 World Cup.

At club level, Howard helped advertise American talent across the pond and take perceptions, as Calen Carr put it, to a ‘whole other level’, with 132 clean sheets in 399 Premier League appearances for Manchester United and Everton combined.

His return to MLS with the Colorado Rapids hasn’t exactly been the success he would have hoped for and going out on Carlos Vela scoring a hat-trick and breaking records will likely frustrate the hell out of Howard as a perfectionist, but his overall career makes him one of the greatest America players of all time.
