2. Nani

In arguably the match of the weekend, one which Orlando City realistically had to take all three points from in order to keep their playoff hopes alive, Nani shone the brightest in a six-goal thriller against the New England Revolution. The Portuguese star scored twice and assisted another to pull his side back from the jaws of defeat.

New England took the early lead through a Tesho Akindele own goal but Nani quickly equalised with a wonderful headed strike. The Revs then scored twice, before Nani mounted his comeback.  First, he set up Dom Dwyer for Orlando’s second goal of the evening just after the break, before dazzling the home crowd with a lovely effort from the edge of the area to level the scores once more.

However, neither side was able to grab a winner in the final half an hour of the match, with it ending in a 3-3 draw. Nani now has twelve goals along with nine assists on the season. He is single-handedly keeping the Lions in the playoff hunt, as was again the case this weekend.
