Eastern Conference Part 2

New England Revolution – Mike Kennedy (@mekncl)

If I could have any player in MLS, it would be the Scottish forward from SKC, Johnny Russell. He’s already got nine goals and four assists in 19 MLS starts this season, so he’s producing in a struggling side. Combine this with his style of play; he’s constantly making a nuisance of himself and forcing the defenders to account for him. He can not only score but he’s also an effective crosser of the ball. Those are the toughest forwards to defend as they’re so unpredictable.

New York City FC – Josh Jays (@therealJayJay7)

If I could have any one player join New York City from any other MLS club, it would be Josef Martinez. Having David Villa leave punched a massive gap in our front line, Josef would be the perfect fit to carry on where Villa left off.

He’s undoubtedly one of the greatest players in MLS and his goalscoring tallies speak for themselves. I feel linking up with Maxi Moralez at NYCFC could be a lethal duo. Alexander Mitritia and Heber look real threats but won’t fill the gap left by Villa anywhere near as good as Martinez would. He’s proven himself in MLS time and time again and keeps on destroying the record books.

New York Red Bulls – Dan Statile (@dan_statile)

Darwin Quintero has the ability to attack quickly and be a threat to either score an electrifying goal or play the clinical final pass. His up-tempo style of play would fit into the RBNY “energy drink soccer” system. An exciting talent and a player with great vision, Quintero would be a dream addition to the starting XI at Red Bull Arena. What’s more, his Colombian roots and Club America history would engage an eclectic soccer community largely untapped in the NY/NJ region.

Orlando City SC – Charlotte Patterson (@KirbyHazard)

If I could pick anyone to play for Orlando from another MLS club, it would have to be Carlos Vela! A fantastic forward, with an amazing eye for goal and incredible talent on the field. 40 goals in 53 appearances! Orlando’s major downfall this season has undoubtedly been our attack, I think I can count on one hand the number of times we’ve scored more than one goal this season. I think Vela is the missing piece of the puzzle we need to have a real chance at making the playoffs.

Philadelphia Union – Zach Wallace (@zachjwallace)

The Union needed a true striker but with the addition of Andrew Wooten, the weakest link on the field becomes the right-back. The Union need a right-back/wing-back with speed and solid defending around the box. In terms of MLS candidates, that has to be Harrison Afful. He has proven to be a consistently great right-back and it might be the addition the Union need to become regulars deep into the playoffs.

Kleberson (Philadelphia Union Academy coach)

Fredy Montero is one player I would love to see play for Philadelphia Union. He’s played in MLS at different points in his career and always scored goals. What makes him special is he’s very dynamic, has energy all over the pitch and helps the team make the transition between defence and attack. He’s scored some great goals in his MLS career and I could see him fitting into any team.

Kleberson was speaking to US-bookies.

Toronto FC – Niagara Reds TV (@NiagaraRedsTV)

I’d have to go for Carlos Vela. He’s played out wide on the right of the front three for LAFC in a 4-3-3 and that’s Greg Vanney’s desired formation – our club is bereft of any threat out wide. I’d also like to see the interchange he could offer with Alejandro Pozuelo and Jozy Altidore.
