MLS: Which ONE player from MLS would fans like to see in their team?

Eastern Conference

Atlanta United – Henry Hewitt, MLS UK Show – (@Henry_Hewitt/@MLSUKShow)

Maxi Moralez from NYCFC. Josef Martinez has shown just how good he is this season by getting beyond 20 MLS goals, especially as none of the rest of the roster have more than four goals or eight assists so far.

Moralez can score but more importantly for Atlanta, he’d be creating more chances for the team and Martinez. He may be 32 but I feel he would give Atlanta that extra bit of class to challenge in the latter stages of the playoffs.

Chicago Fire – John Carollo III (@Jiggly_333)

The Chicago Fire are an interesting case with this question because they actually traded away their one need. The trade of Sean Johnson has sent the team into turmoil in goal. However, since any keeper in MLS is available in this scenario, the best would be the USMNT international, Bill Hamid. Just a big guy with great leadership within the box. He’s consistently the best in the league and would be a big help to the Fire, who are struggling with the goalkeeper question right now.

FC Cincinnati – Eden Grey (@edenjeangrey)

Back when FCC was building their MLS roster at the end of 2018/beginning of 2019, we acquired the Sierra Leone native, Kei Kamara, for all of a split second in the draft. Kamara now plays as a centre-forward for the Colorado Rapids. Kamara is the reason I watch Rapids games, and every time I do, I wish we had such a strong player in Cincinnati. He makes a difference in every game he plays in and while he isn’t a superstar player, his technique is great, he has a ton of energy and positivity and when he gets chances, he doesn’t hesitate to take them. We need more of that for FCC! I would love to have Kamara on the team!

Columbus Crew – Dakota Andres (@KOTAstewart)

It’s got to be Carlos Vela. He is, in my opinion, the best current MLS player. He’s a difference-maker, leads his team well, and is the type of player every team should be after.

The way he performs week after week is something special and the way he sees ahead of the game is not something every player has. His uniqueness and creativity are what make him one of the best.

D.C. United – D.C. United Kingdom (@DCUnitedKingdom)

One position I feel that D.C. United could improve in is the striker position and if I could have anyone from the MLS to fit the team we have right now, it would have to be Gyasi Zardes from Columbus Crew. He would add pace, which is something we seem to lack upfront. He’s not the same player as Wayne Rooney but would go a long way toward replacing his goals when he leaves.

Montreal Impact – André Opzoomer (@Aopzoomer)

For me, it would be Diego Valeri. He is a technical player who makes the Timbers fun to watch and is one of those consistently good players who can make key passes and score goals. If he played for the Impact with Ignacio Piatti, we would definitely be much stronger in our collective play. It really makes you what that Argentine connection could have done upfront.
