The 2016 MLS Cup-winning campaign was Jordan Morris’ first in the league, but he became a vital part of the Sounders’ lineup. The forward played in all 40 regular and postseason games, starting 38 of those. Morris scored 14 times, assisting five others, across the course of the season.

After spending the majority of his youth career at Eastside FC, Morris joined the Sounders youth academy, playing in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy in 2012. The striker-turned-winger played for the Stanford Cardinal during his three years at university there, scoring 23 goals in 54 games for his college side.

He helped the team to lift their first Pac-12 trophy since 2001 and to an NCAA Championship. Morris was awarded the Hermann Trophy for being the best player in NCAA Division I soccer at the end of the 2015 campaign.

He made the move to professional football at the start of the 2016 season, signing his first professional contract with Seattle. The American helped the side to win the MLS Cup in 2016, and a year on from that, he tasted International glory, winning the CONCACAF Gold Cup with the USMNT.

Morris scored three times during the tournament as the United States went on to lift the trophy on home soil. The winger missed the entire 2018 season through injury but returned to a starring role with the Sounders for their 2019 campaign.
