1. Cristian Roldan

The best performance of the week came from the best game of the weekend, which saw the Seattle Sounders and the LA galaxy go toe-to-toe in a seven-goal thriller at CenturyLink Field. The Sounders needed an 89th-minute strike to seal a 4-3 victory as they kept the second spot in the West with the eventual three points.

Cristian Roldan was the hero for the Rave Green on Sunday afternoon, his two goals helped Seattle to the vital victory over the Los Angeles side. The hosts took a two-goal lead, with strikes either side of the break. Raul Ruidiaz made the breakthrough in stoppage time of the first period, with Roldan then getting on the scoresheet in the 55th minute.

The Galaxy soon levelled up the scoring through goals from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Uriel Antuna, before Jordan Morris but the Sounders ahead once more. Galaxy left-back Jorgen Skjelvik then scored the visitors’ section equaliser with nine minutes to go, but Roldan was the hero, tapping in at the back post just a minute before full-time.
