4. Chris Wondolowski

He just keeps on scoring! Chris Wondolowski already holds the all-time MLS scoring record, and he added another brace to his tally on Saturday evening. The San Jose Earthquakes faced off against Orlando, with both sides looking for playoff football through their respective conferences. The Lions made the long trip west to the Avaya Stadium, but the hosts were too good, winning out 3-0.

Magnus Eriksson scored the opener, giving the Earthquakes the lead just three minutes into the clash, before Wondolowski came into his own. The American’s first of the night came on the 20-minute mark. A ball was slid through the Lions’ defence to the forward, who duly finished, dinking a finish over the oncoming Brian Rowe and into the Orlando goal.

Wondolowski’s second of the game — and his 157th in MLS history — came just 13 minutes later, giving the hosts a three-goal lead before the break. Cristian Espinoza managed to get down the right wing, before pulling the ball back to the striker, who finished off from just outside the six-yard box. With Wondolowski constantly improving his MLS-record goal tally, could he take the Quakes to a third MLS Cup title?
