1. Maxime Crepeau

For the first time in the history of this list, MLS Multiplex’s best performance of the week goes to a man between the sticks. Even more surprising when it comes to this goalkeeper is that his side actually lost at the weekend.

Maxime Crepeau was in goal for the Vancouver Whitecaps as they suffered a 3-1 defeat in San Jose. However, the Canadian shot-stopper pulled out a record-breaking performance, as he made 16 saves in the match, a new MLS regular-season record.

Crepeau has broken out this season, having only played three times in MLS ahead of the 2019 campaign, and he has taken the No.1 spot with the Whitecaps this campaign. Yes, Vancouver might well be bottom of the Western Conference, but had it not been for the shot-stopper, it could be a lot worse for the Canadian side.

In 22 games this campaign, Crepeau has made almost 100 saves. The Whitecaps will be looking to keep hold of their star goalkeeper, no matter where they finish come the end of the 2019 term.
