The moment finally came for Chelsea against Norwich City this weekend as Frank Lampard earned his first Premier League win as a manager. And USMNT star Christian Pulisic was involved heavily in the match that involved a back-and-forth storyline. His first assist in the Premier League came on Mason Mount’s goal in the 17th minute.

Pulisic started was in the starting XI for the second consecutive weekend for Chelsea. He should get the start again in the next fixture against newly-promoted Sheffield United on matchday four.
Alfredo Morales scores in Bundesliga action
It was not a pleasant result for Zack Steffen and Alfredo Morales this time around. Fortuna Düsseldorf were met with their first defeat of the season against Bayer Leverkusen. On the bright side, Morales was able to score Düsseldorf’s only goal of the match in the 3-1 loss.

Matt Miazga had to leave Reading’s match just a few minutes into the fixture against Huddersfield Town due to injury. However, it appears it may not be a serious injury based on early comments from the coaching staff.

Elsewhere in the EFL Championship, it was not a winning weekend for the USMNT players. Tim Ream, Antonee Robinson, and Cameron Carter-Vickers all featured for their respective teams in matches that all ended in defeats.
John Brooks and Weston McKennie played all 90 minutes for Wolfsburg and Schalke. Brook’s contributed to Wolfsburg’s 3-0 clean sheet victory over Hertha Berlin while McKennie and Schalke lost 3-0 to Bayern Munich.
Tim Ream and Lille did not have a match this weekend as they will play on Wednesday against Saint Etienne in Ligue 1 action.
Joel Soñora and Arsenal de Sarandi’s dream start to the season came to an end as they fell 2-0 loss to San Lorenzo. Soñora played 66 minutes in the match.
Fabian Johnson played 81 minutes for Borussia Mönchengladbach in their 3-1 win over Mainz.
Timothy Chandler picked up an assist for Eintracht Frankfurt in their 2-1 loss to RB Leipzig. Tyler Adams remains out with injury for the Bundesliga side.
Andrija Novakovich back to the Eredivisie?
It appears USMNT striker Andrija Novakovich may be headed back to the Dutch Eredivisie. PEC Zwolle have shown interest in signing the current Reading player.

He is not expected to get much playing time at Reading and he was very effective during his time in the Netherlands. This move has a strong possibility it will happen. Novakovich needs to continue to get first-team minutes if he hopes to break into the starting XI for the USMNT.
