RW – Mauro Rosales – Unattached

The second Argentinian that FC Dallas looked to use on the attacking front was right-winger Mauro Rosales, who only spent a single season in Texas, but helped the side to win the double of USOC and Supporters’ Shield.

More from MLS Multiplex

Rosales’ career began in the 20th Century. His professional debut came in 1999 for Newell’s Old Boys. He scored 30 times in 199 league games for the club before making the move to Europe. The Argentinian signed for Ajax in 2004, having been part of the Argentina side that won the Olympic Gold medal in Athens that summer, and went on to win the KNVB Cup twice in his three seasons with the Dutch club.

The winger moved back to Argentina in 2007, signing for River Plate. He won the Primera Division Clausura in 2008, and after three years in his home country, Rosales made the move to MLS. He signed for the Seattle Sounders and was part of the USOC winning side in 2011. After a spell at Chivas USA, he then signed for Vancouver Whitecaps, where he helped the team to the Canadian Championship in 2015.

A year later, Rosales was part of FC Dallas’ double-winning team, before making the move back to Vancouver for the 2017 campaign. He only played five times for the Whitecaps in his second spell due to injuries and was released at the end of the season.
