Completing the trio of South American forward players is Maximiliano Urruti, who led the line for FC Dallas during their USOC-winning run in 2016. He scored twice in the final against the Revolution.

Like right-winger Rosales, the Argentine began his career at Newell’s Old Boys. Urruti had been part of their youth set-up for six years before making his professional debut in 2011. He helped the team to win the Primera División in 2013. After two seasons with the club, the forward made the move to MLS, signing for Toronto FC in August 2013. Just three weeks later, he was traded to the Portland Timbers.

Whilst he was in Portland, Urruti tasted more league success, as he helped the Timbers to their first-ever MLS Cup triumph. He played 35 times for the club during their title-winning season in 2015. After that season, he entered the MLS Re-Entry Draft, where FC Dallas selected him with the first overall pick. He went on to play over 100 times for the Texan side over the next three years, including helping them to the double.

Urruti scored twice in the U.S. Open Cup final, including the equalising goal in the first half. After three seasons with the club, the Argentine was traded to Montreal Impact ahead of the 2019 campaign, where he has become the spearhead of their attack.
