MLS: Top 5 performances from Week 24’s midweek slate

4. Damir Kreilach
Real Salt Lake needed three points to keep their hopes of a home playoff berth on track, and they got three goals to do exactly that on Wednesday night. To make things even better for them, they did it over a possible playoff rival in the Seattle Sounders, who they leapfrogged in the process.
Their main man on Wednesday evening was Damir Kreilach, who assisted two of their three goals on the way to victory. Kreilach tallied his first assist of the night on the hosts’ second goal. Corey Baird found the Croatian, who then played it into the path of the oncoming Albert Rusnak to finish.
The midfielder then set up Real Salt Lake’s third of the night, the exclamation point on a solid team performance, as he slotted the ball through the defence to find Baird, with the forward duly doing the rest. Real Salt Lake will need to Kreilach to keep scoring and assisting for them if they are to guarantee a playoff place for the post-season, but on this form, there is little reason to doubt him.
