LA Galaxy MLS Cup 2014: Where are they now?

CB – Omar Gonzalez – Toronto FC (MLS)
USMNT international Omar Gonzalez followed the same path to MLS as DeLaGarza and played alongside him in defence for the entirety of the four-year Galaxy stranglehold on the MLS Cup.
In the 2014 campaign, the American played 27 times for the Galaxy, including all 480 minutes of their five matches in the playoffs. Gonzalez played with DeLaGarza for the Maryland Terrapins through his college career and was then drafted third in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft by the Galaxy. In his first season in the league, the centre-half was named MLS Rookie of the Year for his performances, and he went on to make his international debut a year later.
Gonzalez has gone on to play over 50 times for his country and was part of the CONCACAF Gold Cup-winning sides in both 2013 and 2017. He then won the MLS Cup in 2011 and 2012 with the Galaxy, being named MLS Defender of the Year in the former. He then helped the Galaxy to a third MLS Cup in four years in the 2014 campaign, before leaving to move south of the border a year later.
Gonzalez signed for Pachuca, and helped them to the Liga MX Clausura in 2016, and then to the illustrious CONCACAF Champions League the season after. In June 2019, the defender moved back to MLS, signing for former Champions Toronto FC, where he has become a starter at the back.
