LB – Seth Sinovic – Sporting KC

Another man to have played every minute of Sporting KC’s postseason run was American left-back Seth Sinovic, and he scored the sixth penalty that his side took in the MLS Cup final shootout.

Whilst at college, he also played for the Chicago Fire Premier side, helping them to the USL PDL Championship game in 2009. After a season with the New England Revolution, Sinovic returned to his birthplace of Kansas City, signing for Sporting KC at the start of 2011. A year later, he helped the team to win the U.S. Open Cup for the second time in their history, with SKC’s victory in the competition in 2012 being their first for eight years.

The end of the 2013 campaign saw Sinovic help Sporting KC to the MLS Cup for the second time, with the full-back slotting home his spot-kick in the shootout against Real Salt Lake. The next season saw Sinovic given an individual honour by the club, as he was named as Sporting Kansas City Defensive Player of the Year.

The American has gone on to feature more than 200 times for the club, and helped the team to a further two U.S. Open Cup victories, in 2015 and 2017. Sinovic has spent time with Swope Park Rangers on loan but has returned to SKC, where he continues to play his football.
