Striker

Camilo Sanvezzo

While Techera’s selection may be divisive, having Camilo Sanvezzo as the striker is certainly not. The Brazilian has undoubtedly been the best goalscorer ever to play for the Whitecaps, and he was there right at the beginning. There was no one thing that stood out in Camilo, but he found ways to score.

The 2013 Golden Boot winner topped out at 22 goals, a record which still leads the franchise. His other seasons included ones of five and 12 goals respectively. Scoring double figures in the inaugural 2011 season, on a team which featured very little quality and finished last in the league, was a sensational achievement.

Sadly, Camilo left the club in terrible fashion, forever tarnishing his reputation among fans. He forced a transfer to Queretaro of Liga MX, not honouring his contract with Vancouver. While the Camilo drama is one of the most intriguing in franchise history, the money the team received for the transfer led to both Laba and Morales, both of whom were also included in this all-time team.
