1. Points earned in a season

In what can be considered to be the ultimate team record in MLS, none other than Los Angeles FC are on pace to smash the most points earned in one season in 2019. Currently held by the 2018 New York Red Bulls, who garnered 71 points on their way to a berth in the Eastern Conference Finals, it is safe to say that this one now belongs on the endangered species list.

As of writing this, LAFC sit atop the Western Conference on 49 points. With 12 matches remaining and them averaging 2.23 points per match…if we multiply that…carry the one…that puts LAFC on pace for 75 points on the season, besting the old mark by four.

If LAFC stay on pace and break this record, it will be the third straight season that this mark has fallen. Toronto FC beat LA Galaxy’s 1998 posting of 68 points in 2017 and the Red Bulls’ mark of 71 followed in 2018.
