CB – Aurélien Collin – Philadelphia Union (MLS)
MLS stalwart Aurélien Collin was part of the Orlando City backline for their first ever run-out in the top flight of American soccer. The centre-half was an integral part of the Lions’ first season in MLS, despite being sent off in that opening match against NYCFC. He went on to play 28 times, chipping in with a couple of goals on the year.
Collin’s senior career started in Scotland, where he spent a season at Gretna. He then spent time in Greece and Wales before a successful spell in Portugal. After two seasons with Vitoria Setubal, the Frenchman made the move to the States, signing for Sporting Kansas City in 2011.
After four seasons with SKC, which included a U.S. Open Cup title in 2012 and an MLS Cup win in 2013, where he also received the MLS Cup MVP award, Collin made the move to Florida. The defender then spent just over a season with Orlando, including their first in the league, but early into the 2016 campaign, he was traded away to the New York Red Bulls.
After three seasons in the Big Apple, the Frenchman then moved to Philadelphia for the 2019 campaign, where he has featured a couple of times so far.
