2. Alexander Ring
The opening match of the weekend saw New York City FC take on Sporting Kansas City. The Sky Blues came out on top with a 3-1 victory. Finnish midfielder Alexander Ring played a key part in the victory. He had a hand in all three goals, assisting the first two before getting his name on the scoresheet.
The NYCFC star started off the move that led to the first goal with a lovely dummy, and he was on hand to set up Anton Tinnerholm to finish off the first half with a bang.

Yankee Stadium then saw the hosts double their lead less than ten minutes after the break, as the Finn got his second assist of the game, setting up Heber. SKC brought a goal back and had time to look for an equaliser, but Ring got on the scoresheet in the final 15 minutes to put the game to bed, topping off a terrific performance from the midfielder.
