RB – Alvas Powell – FC Cincinnati (MLS)

Like Kwarasey, Alvas Powell was almost ever-present in the 2015 season for the Timbers, playing 37 games, including all 570 minutes in their playoff run to the MLS Cup.

The Jamaican started his professional career in his home country at Portmore United, where he won the National Premier League, ahead of a move to MLS. Whilst he was playing for Portmore, the full-back got his first taste of international football. Powell has played 16 times for his country, and was part of the team that won the Caribbean Cup in 2014.

In 2013, Powell went on loan from Portmore to Portland, a deal that was extended through to the beginning of the 2014 MLS season. He also spent some time at the Sacramento Republic in 2014, before making a permanent move back to Portland ahead of the 2015 campaign.

Powell eventually stayed in Portland for another three years after the Championship run, as he played over 100 times for the Timbers, along with winning the MLS Cup in that 2015 campaign. The 2019 season saw Powell move to MLS-newbies FC Cincinnati, where he has become first-choice at right-back, as the men in orange and blue look to reach the MLS Cup playoffs in their first season.
