1. Minnesota United

Minnesota United, who currently sit in sixth place, a point above the red line in the West, caused the shock result of the weekend. The Loons were expected to beat MLS new-boys FC Cincinnati, but no one expected them to score seven goals.

They became the seventh team to score 7+ goals in an MLS game, following Sporting Kansas City, who also won 7-1 earlier this year against Montreal. Ike Opara opened the scoring for the Loons in the 18th minute. That was then followed by an absolute rocket from rookie Hassani Dotson.

Ethan Finlay and Angelo Rodriguez made it 4-0 before the break, and although Emmanuel Ledesma brought one back for the visitors, the rout continued in the second stanza. Opara scored a second, with Mason Toye and Kevin Molino also getting in on the act for the Loons, who completed a resounding victory in their push for the playoffs.
