Chris Mavinga – Danny Green

Two guys who seem like they are either on or off, Chris Mavinga and Danny Green are both integral pieces to Toronto’s two red teams. Unfortunately, they both seem to be sink-or-swim players. Throughout the regular season, Green seemed automatic from three. In the playoffs, it was an entirely different story. He was ostensibly burnt out, shooting only 33% from three, down from 46% in the regular season.

Mavinga has suffered a similar fate lately. Coming off of Toronto FC’s championship run in 2017, he looked like one of the next great MLS defenders. Lately, however, he has been clumsy with his challenges, as TFC’s backline has devolved into one of the worst in the league.

Hopefully both of these players can round back into form in the near future, as we’ve seen what they look like in peak form and, spoiler alert, it’s really good.
