Alex Bono/Quentin Westberg – Marc Gasol

The Toronto FC goalkeeping debate aside, Marc Gasol has acted as a type of goalkeeper himself down the stretch for the Raptors. While his offensive production has been close to zero in a bevvy of playoff games this season (hey, sounds like a goalkeeper), Gasol has found other ways to contribute, primarily on the defensive end (hey, goalies do that too).

A picture of versatility, he has been a back-to-the-basket rim protector on top of being able to guard the three ball as well as any big in the league. His movement and fluidity at the defensive end is exactly like the fluidity needed inside the six-yard box for TFC.

While Quentin Westberg has made his case for the starting spot, Alex Bono is a fan favourite and was a USMNT hopeful a mere couple of years ago. The team has had to adapt to the goalkeeper competition regardless and keep plugging ahead, just like Gasol has had to weather the storm his offensive troubles created for him, but all are excellent on the defensive end on their games.
