9. 2013 Open Cup: Orlando City SC 3-1 Colorado Rapids

Speaking of that Orlando City victory…

Back before the Lions boasted of names such as Kaka and Luis Nani, all soccer eyes in Florida were on the club’s precursor, Orlando City SC, who played in the USL Pro (Div. 3). And, what made this result so memorable for Orlando was not just the emphatic scoreline, but the fact that it was their first-ever victory over an MLS side.

The game itself was fairly even. The 1-1 scoreline lasted until the second half when Dom Dwyer bagged a brace to give Adrian Heath’s men a memorable victory.

An unforgettable day in the history of Orlando City SC
