15. Seattle Sounders FC – CenturyLink Field – Seattle, WA

Capacity: 37,722

Opened: 2002

Pros: Atmosphere, location, covered seating (for the most part)

Cons: Artificial surface, capacity, shared stadium

The Seattle Sounders are one of MLS’ great clubs. CenturyLink Field on match day is one of MLS’ great atmospheres. However, when you look at the ground itself, you cannot say that it is fit for one of the most iconic MLS franchises. To their credit, the Sounders have made the second best batch of proverbial lemonade with the lemon of an NFL stadium having been bestowed upon them. At times, when the upper stands are full, CenturyLink truly feels like a home ground fit for the kings of MLS, twice removed. Then you see a massive Seahawks logo and you forget about all of that. A downtown, covered, 40,000-seat, soccer-specific ground would be the dream for any Seattle fan, but they are doing fantastic with the rough hand they have been dealt. For now, it looks like the turf and tarps are here to stay, but there are rumblings that a new ground could be in the works.
