5. Gonzalo Higuain

I admit, this one is a bit of a long shot as well.

However, Gonzalo Higuain is at that stage of his career when he is clinging onto life at a top club, and as each season passes, his fingers slowly lose grip on his hope of European glory.

Higuain was recently pushed out of Juventus because of the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo and moved to Milan as a result, where he massively underperformed. The Argentine now finds himself at Chelsea, still failing to impress. He is, therefore, moving further away from the radars of the big European outfits.

The former Napoli man was once one of Europe’s best strikers, but now at 31, his career on the continent is quickly declining. Higuain has also recently retired from international football, so maybe it is not so much of a long shot after all. I mean, if you’re the Columbus Crew, you would be telling his brother Federico to make a quick phone call, right?
