1. Can Sporting KC rebound?

Sporting Kansas City have experienced the highest of highs and lows this past week. They thrashed the Montreal Impact last Saturday 7-1, in a match where everything seemed to be clicking, especially the front three of Krisztian Nemeth, Johnny Russell, and Gerso Fernandes.

Then, they went to Monterrey in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League semi-final and were themselves thrashed 5-0. Sporting KC played their first team in that match, including the same front three. However, they could not get anything going.

Just three days following their CCL letdown, SKC have to play FC Cincinnati away. This will be a very difficult match for the away team. FC Cincinnati have already won two games this season, and look good for an expansion side. They have a tremendous fan base and home atmosphere. Kansas City will have to play their third match in eight days and they will certainly be rotating their squad for this match.

The midweek disappointment will likely stand out in their minds more than the big victory last weekend. Sporting Kansas City need some positive momentum this match, but it may be difficult to get even a point out of it.
