4. Can Pozuelo follow up the debut?

Alejandro Pozuelo finally made his debut for Toronto FC last week after a month of anticipation. Much has been made of the lengthy process required to acquire the playmaker. However, TFC fans would now agree he was well worth the wait.

Pozuelo had two goals and an assist last week against New York City FC. His second goal was the best goal scored in MLS this season thus far. Pozuelo won MLSMultiplex’s Player of the Week honors last week as well. He immediately became a game-changing player for a team that needed a new star, leading Toronto to a 4-0 victory over NYCFC.

Pozuelo’s next challenge will come against the Chicago Fire. With Mo Adams making his debut last week, Pozuelo will come up against a destructive midfielder who will likely be tasked with targetting him. It will be interesting to see how he now deals with the added attention.
