1. Goals not the problem

With Sebastian Giovinco departing in the offseason, it was thought that Toronto might struggle to create and score goals. Giovinco was the beating heart of the attack, the catalyst that ignited everything around him.

But through two MLS games, TFC have scored six goals — they have the highest goals-per-game ratio to date. Goals are most certainly not the problem, and given how Ayo Akinola is currently playing, scoring his first goal for the club with a mazy dribble and low finish and then making a critical run to create space for Jozy Altidore’s winner, they aren’t likely to dry up.

At the other end, there are some defensive concerns. Laurent Ciman again struggled, his first touch letting him down on several occasions, and the two New England goals were extremely soft and do not reflect well on the Toronto defence whatsoever.

Nevertheless, with Alejandro Pozuelo still to be introduced, Toronto FC will unquestionably be one of the highest scoring teams in MLS this season. And that makes them very dangerous indeed.
