1. NYCFC vs LAFC in match of the week

The match of the week features a cross-conference rivalry.

Los Angeles FC have looked like one of the very best teams in MLS. They have thus far defeated Sporting KC and the Portland Timbers, the latter of which they embarrassed last Sunday. Both of those wins came at home though, and now they will need to head across country to face New York City FC in the small confines of the Yankee Stadium.

NYCFC have been a perennial playoff team since joining MLS. However, they are off to a slow start in 2019, drawing each of their first two matches. They put on an encouraging display against D.C. United last week, dominating possession and creating more chances, but they were unable to seal the win with a goal.
