3. A revelation at right-back

Madagascar International Romain Metanire has been a revelation at right-back for the Loons to start the season.

More from MLS Multiplex

The 28-year-old came over from French side Stade de Reims in January and appears to be the answer Minnesota United have been looking for on the right side of the defense for far too long.

A player with pace to burn and the physicality to match, Metanire could be a tough match for MLS left wingers all season long. He and captain Francisco Calvo, who plays on the left flank, have put in masterful performances in each of the first two matches.

Both have been offensive threats as well, adding an extra element of width and purpose to the Minnesota attack that has been absent in previous seasons. If the form remains, they could have a case for being the best full-back duo in the league.
