MLS Week 1: First impressions of all 24 teams
Los Angeles FC
LAFC earned the most impressive and dramatic win of the week, nipping Sporting KC 2-1 in added time. Diego Rossi scored the first goal of the season, again. Bob Bradley will have to find more minutes for Adama Diomande, who scored the game-winner against a full strength Sporting KC. It was a brutally rough game for both teams but LAFC found a way to claim all three points.
Tyler Miller made four saves and can’t be faulted fully for the Sporting KC opener. Walker Zimmerman and Eduard Atuesta organized the team well in the defensive third. LAFC was composed going forward and has game-changing talent on the bench in Diomande and Latif Blessing.
The attacking talent will carry this team far. They are stocked in central midfield, if lacking a true ball-winner, and they have goals from off the bench, as displayed here. They are the biggest winners in Week 1 of the 2019 MLS season.
