FC Dallas

Luchi Gonzalez has a point from his debut. Reggie Cannon has an assist and a future in this game. However, expectations were tempered in the 1-1 draw versus the New England Revolution. The academy approach will pay dividends but FC Dallas still lack the top-end talent to bother the best MLS squads.

Dominique Badji is serviceable at best. He can chase long balls all day but has very few ideas once he corrals possess. Cannon and Michael Barrios can create from the right wing. Also on the right, Bryan Acosta had the game pass him by a couple of times. Badji cannot create his own chances from the middle and needs several chances to find the net from service out wide.

The academy will ensure FC Dallas never fall too far from a playoff spot. But the lack of investment in a truly game-changing striker will ensure FC Dallas ends the season without multiple playoff wins.
