USWNT Vs England: 3 things we learned – Wonder goals and frustration
By Daniel Garza
1. Goals needed in final match
After failing to get a win from their first two matches, the USWNT will need to defeat Brazil if they hope to repeat as winners of the SheBelieves Cup.
England and Japan are in control of their own destinies at the top of the table with four points apiece. If there’s a winner from the England-Japan match, they will take the title. A draw from that fixture is the only way the U.S. can still win.
But should a draw happen, the U.S. can still win the competition. To do so, goals will need to come against Brazil. The USWNT are hoping to win the SheBelieves Cup on goal difference. How many they must win by will depend on the score of the England-Japan match, but the minimum they must achieve is a two-goal differential.
This is going to be a massive test for the USWNT. But it also provides them with an opportunity to go and get a win they desperately need.
