2. Sporting KC self destruct in final moments

A lack of discipline and tired legs got the most of Sporting KC in the final minutes of the match.

More from MLS Multiplex

Roger Espinoza was the biggest culprit. He took an unnecessary second yellow card in the 84th minute when he needlessly and stupidly felled Mark-Anthony Kaye after the LAFC midfielder played a backwards pass all the way into his own half, leaving his team a man down. For the veteran, it was an inexcusable foul and decision.

Espinoza was not the only guilty party, however. Ilie Sanchez was beaten by both Diego Rossi and Adama Diomande in the lead up to the LAFC goals, putting in labored challenges that never really looked sufficient to slow either attacker down.

Following a mid-week fixture in the CONCACAF Champions League, Sporting KC showed how hard it can be to manage the packed schedule. If they had not played that match, it may have been a different result as their general tiredness as a unit caught up with them. Nevertheless, that is what a squad is for.
