CDM Michael Azira

CM Saphir Taider

RW Orji Okwonkwo

This line-up is very similar to the one they rolled out last year. The backline is the same, except Cabrera and Camacho will pair following Rod Fanni’s departure. Lovitz has proven himself to be the starter at left-back.

I was very tempted to start Ken Krolicki over Azira. Krolicki provides energy and a jack-of-all-trades skillset. However, Azira is a little more sturdy in the midfield and I have Montreal playing two defensive-minded midfielders instead. Taider is the key man; he will spend another season pulling the strings.

Two newcomers join Nacho Piatti in the attack. Urruti is an upgrade at striker. On the right side, either Okwonkwo or Harry Novillo could start. I have chosen Okwonkwo based on the limited amount I have seen the two play in the preseason.
