DC United

DC will sport a new secondary kit this season. The club’s newest kit is… wait for it… a white shirt! In a shocking turn of events, DC United will be the seventh club to introduce a white kit for the 2019 season, joining six clubs still wearing a white kit from 2018. Over half the league now wears a white kit of some sort unfortunately.

This new secondary kit has gray trim on the collar and the Adidas shoulder stripes are also gray. There is a “DC United” stamp on the back of the neck. Four silver stars sit above the crest for DC’s MLS Cup wins in 1996, 1997, 1999, and 2004. Because of the lack of imagination (even for a white kit), this kit gets a failing grade. There is no inspiration drawn from the city (it’s the country’s capital of all places!), no callbacks to a club with more history than most, and no creativity anywhere to be found. This kit is a missed opportunity.
