What the Spaniard brings to the table for the Revs is an opportunity for the team to join the race amongst the top teams in the Eastern Conference. Gil is not new to high-competition play, representing Aston Villa in the Premier League and Deportivo de La Coruña in La Liga.
What Gil needs to prove immediately is that he can work with his new teammates. The likes of Diego Fagundez, Juan Agudelo, and Teal Bunbury have been playing together for several years now, making it crucial for Gil to slide into the team’s line-up without any problems.
Although Gil has played along the wing for a majority of his career, it is probable that he will see a position change in his new home. With long time midfielder Kelyn Rowe leaving the team in the offseason, Gil would be an ideal replacement at the no. 10 position.
If Gil contributes from the jump and brings the best out of the players around him, he could very well be one of the best signings this offseason.
