Columbus Crew SC

Columbus is a club getting a fresh start this season with brand new ownership, but their newest primary kit doesn’t necessarily reflect that. Dubbed the “2019 Gold Kit,” their primary kits are yellow (gold?) with black shoulder stripes and black and white trim on the sleeves. There is an extremely subtle checker pattern hidden in the yellow but one must look very close to see it.

The new kit features a “heritage shield” on the back of the neck commemorating when the club was founded in 1996. There is also a charter member jock tag and a silver star above the crest for the club’s 2008 MLS Cup win. Columbus’s newest kit does a good job of calling back to the club’s history while keeping a classic look and not changing up too much of what the fans love.
