San Jose Earthquakes

San Jose get a new primary kit this season. Dubbed the “Unity Jersey,” the kit is predominantly black but the chest of the jersey as blue. The Adidas stripes on the shoulder are also blue, along with blue trim on the sleeves and the inside of the neck.

The kit has an SJ74 jock tag for the founding of the club in 1974. There are also two silver stars above the crest for San Jose’s MLS Cup wins in 2001 and 2003. To the delight of most fans, there is no sponsor on the front of the shirt, leaving an interesting design unscathed by extra lettering. Because the chest design is somewhat unique in MLS (currently), San Jose’s new kit grades well.

Kit grade: B+
